This museum covers the history of the island from ancient times to modern. It is a wealth of information and has lots of opportunities for children and students to learn including hands on learning. There are also several displays depicting the social history of the island. The staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Altogether an afternoon well spent

Manannan was reputedly a sea god who protected the island from the Viking invaders by 'weaving a sea mist' which enveloped the island in times of danger. This has an element of 'truth' because when a sea mist develops you cannot se your hand in front of your face. The House of Manannan is a small museum in Peel which... More

Such an amazing day out here. Really enjoyed it, so did my husband. What made it more special is we was celebrating our 10 year anniversary and I wanted to do something for my amazing husband. So right outside I got on 1 knee and proposed again to my husband. This time it was to renew our vows :) he... More

An interesting museum, suitable for all ages You are guided by Mananan through the museum. Perhaps a little gimmicky but enjoyable and different too. Lovely shop offering lots of quality gifts and souvenirs. However I did feel it was a little expensive at £10 per person.

I love the mythology that surrounds the Isle of Man, so I should have loved this museum. It seems I'm in a minority, and it may work better for families with small children, but as two adults we really thought it disappointing. The good bits were the Viking ship, and the KIngs of the Isles display. The bits that could... More

This museum is in my opinion the best in the isle of man! Lot's to see and do. Some interactive exhibits and its impossible to choose a favourite exhibit because they all are so great ! Would definitely recommend to everyone, is very engaging for younger children as well.
