Since this venue opened my partner and I have visited on a number of occasions. Unfortunately tickets need to be purchased through ticket master at high booking fee. Better to pay cash at the box office. There is a cash machine at the nearby Coop. Ken Dodd appears every year and is worth seeing. It's mainly artists from the past... More

I have been to the Whitley Bay Playhouse on many occasions and I find this to be a very intimate venue where there is not a bad seat to be found. They virtually all have a good clear view of the stage area and the sound is also very good. Seats are comfortable enough with enough leg room from the... More

Just been to this year's panto offering (Aladdin) at the Whitley bay playhouse. Excellent stuff, all you could expect, from celebrities (Shane Lynch from Boyzone) to flying carpets and lots of audience participation. The small nature of the theater meant that everyone felt involved and we all had a great time. There were some technical issues (radio mics not working)... More

Went to see Elkie Brookes last Friday, venue was superb, good view good sound & comfy seats!!! Slightly spoiled by being surrounded by Scottish Elkie fans who insisted on singing every word while drunkenly messaging on their phones but hey thats not the venues fault !!

My husband and I went to see the show spamalot by the Whitley bay operatic society....brilliant show, I laughed from beginning to end, it was well worth the money. The playhouse itself was easy to get to , the only downside I would say was the lack of parking at the playhouse, luckily we know the area so we ended... More

I recently went to see a viewing of the ocean film fest at the playhouse. It's a beautiful venue with nice comfy seats and a good free car park. However I forgot to take cash and they wouldn't accept cards at the bar! I went over the road cash but it charged to take money out. Then when at the... More

Excellent show last Saturday night. The seats in the auditorium are very comfortable and we had the bonus of being in the front row. I was pleased to see a member of staff asking the gentleman sitting next to my husband to remove his drink from the stage. It is difficult to deal with members of the public when they have... More

I've visited the Playhouse on numerous occasions and find it very pleasant and comfortable, you can see a lot more in this theatre than most I've visited. Enough leg room which is a bonus, and nice seating.

I went to see Prof Robert Winston - not your 'usual' theatre event! It was my first time at the Playhouse, even though I live locally. The positives are many- very comfortable, roomy seats with ample legroom: loads of free parking nearby: great views of the stage: friendly staff: nice bar area. The negatives relate to pricing: please don't sell... More
