In a spectacular pterosaur shaped building watching over Sandown’s blue flag beach is Britain’s first purpose built dinosaur museum. Walk back through fossilised time to the period of the dinosaurs where you will find amongst the fossils many interactive displays. On a recreated landscape enhanced by sights, smells and sounds you will meet life sized dinosaurs including our animatronic Neovenator. Guided fossil hunts (which must be pre-booked) have proved to be a popular addition to a visit.

The exhibition is looking really tired, and needs updating or changing. Alot of the displays are either broken, worn-out or simply missing! The cost of £10 isn't to much but the whole place can we viewed in 2 hours and that's really really dragging your...More

If you like gift shops and dinosaurs this is the place for you! You go through the gift shop and pay a fair price for an attraction, go through 1 door and find yourself in a large room with a few displays, then go through...More

The exhibition was informative, but had a few errors, although I doubt if most visitors would have noticed. I don't believe Hysilophodon is the best known UK dinosaur (I think it is Iguanodon) and synapsids shouldn't be called mammal-like reptiles, as it implies that mammals...More

We visited after the zoo next door. I have been several times over the years and loved this visit because the little room in the main hall was open and displaying fossils. Also it wasn't overrun with kiddies. Worth a visit if you have youngsters.

We walked here after visiting the zoo and spent a couple of hours. All 4 of my kids enjoyed the visit & their ages range from 15 to 6. It's all indoors, so if it rains or too windy, you can still enjoy yourself.

My husband, son (2 years old) and I visited the dinosaur isle today and found it to be lacking. It cost us £10 entry and we stayed for half an hour. A lot of the interactive areas were broken or with parts missing. The best...More

Lots of well presented information, with plenty for the kids to see and do, even in quite a small area. The kids enjoyed the animatronic dinosaur and seeing which buttons moved which parts, plus the crayon rubbing area. Just a shame the T Rex skull...More

There were no dogs inside during our time there. Sorry I don't know whether or not dogs would be welcome. A phone call to the museum will answer your question.

the prices are on their website under the visiting tab. It wouldn't let me post the link though. For a single adult it's £5 :)
