Unusual art-work!

Quite a striking piece of art. What can you say when all art is really personal choice. Interesting but slightly strange?

An impressive piece of artwork overlooking the sea. Definitely worth a look, with an ice cream, on a sunny day.

Awful statue, Verity., what does it have to do with Ilfracombe? I mean, Morecombe has got Morecombe and Wise! Why this? It's utterly ghastly, and also shocking! Ugly and unnecessary. Where are the brains of the Ilfracombe Council!!!! Why on earth have a woman half flayed with her baby visible. Very odd???

Nice view from the back. Not so good from the front, but quite spectacular and unusual.I think it cost a lot of money. The pier would still have looked good without it.

Ermmmm it's a nice statue, quite tall, good views near by. Talk to the fishermen, always a laugh. Take a picture, well yeah. Nice bum.

Why have a naked pregnant woman in two halves at the Harbour looking out to sea. There is nothing pretty or nice about the sculpture at all. I am sure something Nautical could have been made to suit the place better. Half of the sculpture is showing the inside of the womans body & organs & the other half normal.... More

We visited the statue whilst in Ilfracombe. I do think the statue is an amazing sculpture, I can't help but think it's location a little bit random. However I would recommend visiting the statue

you cannot take it all in until you see the statue first hand. my wife and I were blown away by its size and detail. the story behind it is explained by the story board beside it. as a feature at a seaside venue its odd, but a piece of art of this quality would look good anywhere, its also...
