The museum Between Land and Sea: 10,000 years of Sefton's Coast with the permanent exhibition Discover Ancient Egypt featuring The Goodison Collection means Sefton finally has a place to share its history. With Children's theatre, some of the biggest names in comedy, music and art The Atkinson really is a cultural pick 'n' mix for all the family. The Atkinson is a focal point for the town centre. Set in a grade II listed building in the centre of Lord Street in Southport. The Atkinson is managed and run by Sefton Council. Please check our website for full opening hours. The Museum & Exhibitions are open 10am - 4pm Monday to Saturday and 11am -4pm on a Sunday. We are only open on Sunday during Sefton School Holidays.

The whole atmosphere when watching a theatre production works much better here rather than at the cinema. This is because you are actually sitting in a theatre watching the screen....

So a Great Little Place has moved into the reception area of the Atkinson . No longer in Houghton Street but a nicer outlook over the water fountain on Lord Street gardens. Same excellent staff and food. What's not to like about it.

Lovely place great venues a tiered theatre and a studio with room to dance and watch your favourite band. Ideal for gigs plays etc. Nice bars and cafe. Staff were all very helpful.

Yes. The front door automatically open, we have disabled toilets and a lift to all floors. A full access statement is on our website.

HI Yes the exhibition is on from 10am - 4pm ( last entry 3.30pm)

The Atkinson is open every day 11-4. PM Sunday, the exhibition ends March
