Amazing but hilly

Beautiful, lots to do and explore, amazing food and ice cream, my only issue is how hilly it is. It's fine if you take your time but the walk to the top of the hill is really... read more

We visited the Himalayan Gardens at Riverhill at Bluebell time. I don't think you would get a better display anywhere. There was also a craft event at the time with everything blue bell related. Also a lovely cafe with sumptious cakes.

This is a fantastic place for all the family ( but be aware there are some steep climbs). it has really come on since being on TV and has advanced. it is family run and has been a family residence for a VERY long time. There are a lot of activities for al ages and it changes through the seasons,... More

Hi Stewie - we're very pleased you enjoy your visits to Riverhill. Yes, our Yeti does still venture out into the Chestnut Wood, usually between 2-4pm at the weekends and during school holidays. We're now closed until March 18th 2017, but hope to you see you next year. More

Beautiful, lots to do and explore, amazing food and ice cream, my only issue is how hilly it is. It's fine if you take your time but the walk to the top of the hill is really steep and if you're a bit unfit you'll get quite out of breath doing the hill! We took it slow and stopped at... More

We visited Riverhill for the first time to enter the dog show and found so much more and didn't have enough time to see it all. We walked through (up the steep hill) the woods, to the adventure play area, which my daughter (10) loved, but there were lots of younger children as well. The maze is developing, at first... More

Gardens are great for children with e really wonderful adventure playground and lots of activities including some supervised indoor craft ones. The woods have dens and den building as well as the famous yeti, which I have never seen yeti! Don't expect much from the maze as you can see over the hedging plants which have not grown high enough... More

We went for the dog show and we all had a fantastic time. Really nice gardens to have a walk around (not classically brilliant but a nice atmosphere and fun for kids to explore) with a fantastic viewpoint at the top of the hill. The dog show was brilliant - great fun for the kids with classes like fluffiest dog... More

I visited earlier in the year with the WI to admire the rhododendrons and visit the tearoom. The flowers look amazing, the views are marvellous and we enjoyed our coffee and cake. Not sure i would bring children as there is not that much to interest them. A slow walk around the gardens takes about 45mins. You can just visit... More

Hello Andrea, and thank you for your review. We're very pleased that you enjoyed our glorious Rhododendrons earlier this year. (Just to let you know, we do have plenty for children to do! There's our budding hedge maze; an adventure playground; our Yeti, who tends to visit between 2-4pm at the weekends and during the school holidays; as well we... More

Pleasant to wander around and my toddler burnt off some energy walking around the trail and through the woods. He also enjoyed the playground, although a baby swing would have been nice for my just-one-year old, as there was nothing really she could get out of the buggy for. We visited end of season and is was quiet. Cafe nice.... More

I was looking forward to visiting due to the reviews and leaflet however apart from the walled garden and rose walk there was very little else to see. The viewpoint was interesting but overall the gardens were not worth the entrance fee and certainly not worth visiting in the summer. Seems to be more of a spring garden. Won't be... More
