A little cluttered when we went here, but the staff were helpful and answered all our questions concerning the local history of Banchory. There is a large exhibition commemorating the World War I. The highlight of this is the large exhibit showing life in the trenches. Well worth a visit. Allow 1 to 2 hours to look round.

A small museum, but with an eclectic collection with something to interest just about everyone. Good display of photographs of Banchory's past including some victorian shots taken by George Washington Wilson. The Heritage Society case displays leisure activities which were enjoyed by Victorian visitors and are still in vogue today; cycling, hillwalking golf and traditional music....for which this area is... More

bit limited not sure what else to say! Would have hoped to see a bit more local history. No as extensive as we would have expected from somewhere on royal deeside.
