The Rowlinson family have lived at Abbeywood since 1987, during which time they have made many improvements and additions to the gardens. The year starts in February with many varieties of Galanthus in Jane's Garden, followed by other Spring favourites, Erythroniums and Trilliums, to name but a few of her rare plants. The Main Garden is divided into separate areas. The formal layout gives way to naturalistic planting within. Early May starts with Tulips followed by Alliums and Camassia. Seasonal interest continues until around mid September - weather depending. The Christopher Lloyd inspired Exotic Garden, designed around the remnants of the old vegetable garden, is filled with Dahlias, Cannas, Banana and other tender perennials. These continue until the first frosts. The Young Arboretum is planted with rare evergreen and deciduous trees for year round interest. A 2km, wildlife walk incorporates the existing and new woodland on the 45 acre grounds.

Visited with my mum for Afternoon Tea, friends had bought me a voucher for a birthday present. Staff were very welcoming, food was lovely, a very nice young gentleman looked after us at our table. Couldn't fault any of it, we sat in the conservatory which was lovely and warm. All in all a great experience. We will definately return!

Abbeywood is a very warm and friendly stop for our weekly bike ride. Carol and Becky are always there to welcome us with a Fantastic selection of home made cakes and delicious coffee. However today I had a puncture on my bike and the lovely Gavin (one of the gardeners) came to my rescue. With in minutes he had replaced... More

Went today for coffee but as there was only 1 person serving (who was working hard) the service was slow as the other girl was clearing up from a few tables but without a tray and was carrying 2 items at a time! Other people coming in and waited too & why on earth does there need to be a... More

I stumbled across Abbeywood on line looking for somewhere to experience the autumn colours on a lovely sunny late October day and was absolutely blown away by what we found. If you are gardener, interested in trees or want somewhere to sit in front of a woodturner having a tasty drink or meal then this is the place for you.... More

Had our wedding here on Friday 7th October and am still being inundated with comments about it being the best ever wedding from all my guests. The level of personal service was absolutely flawless and could never have pulled off such an effortless event without the fantastic support of all the staff. Lauren/Jessica/Alicia/Caleb all out did themselves on the day.... More

One might consider the 9-0 admission fee for two pensioners, excessive, but my wife and I thought that all in all,it was money ,well spent. Where else could one bask in the sunshine, peace and quiet of the Cheshire countryside, other than here where even this late on in the season, the gardens still had much colour and the potential to take ones breath...
