We specifically requested to visit this winery, as part of an organised tour, recently. It was very disappointing. We started our tasting with a bubbly wine which was tasteless. Our waitress advised us that we could re-use our bubbly glass for water & we would get other glasses for the remaining 4 wines. There was 1 bottle of water provided, between 4, no refill.Then... We were in the region albeit briefly and as this is my Mother's favourite wine we decided to visit here to honour her wine preferences. She would have loved it. It was a warm sunny day and the Cellar Door is so situated to create a beautiful sun trap where you can sit and enjoy your wine. Linda a white... More

We were told to taste the seafood bar here. Having lived in Japan I was keen on the Japanese inspired menu I saw on the website. On arrival the menu was somewhat more condensed with a few things I would have loved to try not on it...seasonal?...The oysters and salmon were very tasty however. No Pinot Gris sadly as this... This was my first winery visit in NZ, and maybe they do things differently here, but this was nothing like my experiences in Sonoma, CA or Stellanbosch, SA. As the reviews here echo, different customers seem to have very different experiences here. We decided to have the $25 tasting, and we also ordered a plate of local cheeses to have... More

The venue was very pretty, the vine covered building and the large trees outside. It was nice to able to go inside or out. Outside had large trees providing nice shade with swinging chairs attached. The staff member we had was a bit snobbish and slow, but other than that it was a pleasant experience.

We visited 3 wineries in the Marlborough area and 4 in the Wairarapa area near Wellington and Cloudy Bay was the best by a far margin. All of the other wineries charge a small amount (2-7 NZ$) but provide you their most reasonable wines to taste. Cloudy Bay charges a lot more (25 or 45 NZ$) but let's you taste... More

Had a wonderful experience wine tasting today. Lei was extremely knowledgeable and really put some life into the experience. The only down side was when an another employee quite rudely told Lei to stop answering questions and do his job. She was extremely rude and completely inappropriate! His wonderful service resulted in quite a large purchase a memorable experience.

Paid a visit in Boxing Day. Tasting's a bit expensive compared to most wineries in NZ, but the place's so very beautiful in summer time. After finished the tasting, we went to the garden and ordered more drinks, oysters, beef tartar, roast beef sandwiches and waffles. It's such a pleasant and relaxing environment with live music. Our family had a... More

Tasting room was crowded but even allowing for that there was only a "standard" limited tasting with little knowledge or interest by staff present in discussing the wines with visitors. Having tasted well more than a dozen basic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wines, to my taste Cloudy Bay no longer deserves its premier place or price.

This famous winery seems to have many fans from all around the world. I got there on a cloudy day and hardly found a place inside beautifully designed room. Three different degustation sets with professional , good service! All can go with some snacks. Some wines are only from local market and nice surprises . Harden area is beautiful and... More
