Did a solo trek up to the lake as the family had already done it a week before. We were fortunate enough to be staying at the foot of the hike path. It took just over an hour and the view is spectacular. Went at the end of summer so had the place to myself. Stunning!

One of the most beautiful hikes I've ever done. Can be high level but also done softly... Beautiful views.

Lace de Tanay its a beautiful place, but getting there is not very simple if you dont do any sports and of couse, if you're not a real swiss. The lake is very high on the mountain, you can get there by car but only if its 4X4, if you dont have this kind of car, you have to walk... More

After a hard walk up the hill above Vouvry. Dont verget to look down from time to time, its amazing to see the Rhone valley from the way up. On the top there is a narrow passage and then you look at this jewel. Its getting cooler, which is nice in the hot summer. You can have a nice swim... More

Quite a hairy journey up to the car park and then a quite hard more than 2 hour hike up to a tiny valley surrounded by tranquil majestic peaks and on turning a corner, the magic spectacle of a nestling green blue lake. A typically charming village with a couple of restaurants serving delicious local specialities - their home made... More

So yes, this is an extremely steep and quite intense 1 hour hike from the car park at le Flon. We were on route to the top of Le Grammont, which we achieved and thoroughly enjoyed despite not seeing a lot through the clouds. On our return it was nice to walk around and just enjoy being by this lake.... More

The very short hike is well worth the view, our 5 year old nephew managed it just fine. It can also be a half a day trip if you don't have much time but it's also nice to stay overnight. The fondue au tomato is the best I have ever had!

Lac de Tanay is a beautiful spot for a walk followed by some lunch or relaxing. It includes several auberges. Confusingly the spelling differs between Lac de Tanay and Lac de Taney depending on what map you are looking at. Indeed tripadvisor has duplicate listings under each name. You park in the village of Le Flon which also confuses satnav... More
