i offer real hands-on cookery course - also vegetarian - of mostly typical Tuscan farmer's dishes using vegetables and herbs from my garden, eggs from my chicken, meat from my lambs or wild game from surrounding woods. dishes are selected depending on availability of ingredients and are easily reproduced at home for your family or friends. we do from a minimum of 4 to 7 or 8 dishes- depending on number of "cooks" - we do not make home-made pasta because timer-wise this would not allow us to make many other dishes and would reduce our "students" to an on-lookers status. we also do courses for children, provided they can reach over the counter top and are secure in handling knives. our rates (as of Euro 70 depending on type of course and number of participants) incl. 3 hrs. of cooking and dining as well as standard beverages . times: either 1100 to 1400 hrs or 1700 to 2000 hrs. monday through friday or on special request. a special highlight is the extended half day course - 10.00 to 1500 hrs.- which includes a visit to a local street market or other shopping facilities, eventually with a tastings of cheese and cold cuts , balsamico vinegar, local wine etc. - always on Tuesdays or Fridays - Euro 140 per person - We could also go "looking" for the ingredients - meaning a walk in the surrounding meadows and brush in search of wild green asparagus, field salads as well as herbs (in the spring, autumn and winter time) or a "hunt" for wild mushrooms (in autumn). Or simply come and cook - the choice is up to you.

A place that feels at home. Great food, great instruction, great music, great conversation. What an incredible treat. We have been to other cooking classes but nothing remotely close to this. I give it the highest recommendation possible. I cannot wait to go back.

Our group including 3 adults and 3 children ages 8, 10 and 11 had an fantastic experience cooking with Ulrike. It was so wonderful that after spending one evening with her we knew we had to come back for more later that week and do a day of archery with Fabian (see separate review), spend time harvesting olives, and do... Ulrike's class was so much fun and exactly what we were looking for. She is a fabulous hostess and makes you feel like you have known her for years. On top of the welcoming environment, the food she teaches you to cook is amazing. I may go back to Italy just for another evening of cooking with Ulrike. I can't... More

We are on a walking and wine tasting holiday in Chianti organised by Exodus and a cooking lesson with Ulrike was recommended as a free day activity. 8 of us from our party joined Ulrike in her kitchen in the beautiful Poderi val Verde and enjoyed a great day cooking and eating six different courses to make a memorable Tuscan... We came upon this lesson quite by accident and could not be happier we did. Ulrike took us to a nearby market to shop with the locals and gather the supplies needed for our cooking. While there, we tried various cheeses and sausages from a couple of different vendors. No pressure to purchase anything but the education on different pecorino... More

Ulrike helped create one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Italy! From start to finish, we had a great afternoon and evening - first sampling local wines, balsamico and olive oil in Castellina in Chianti, before shopping for ingredients, and eventually returning to her homely farmhouse to put our hands to work making a delicious feast. Ulrike was... More

I booked a cooking class with my husband and in-laws (and our toddler) all of very varied degrees of ability in the kitchen. Ulrike was incredibly accommodating having our little one in tow, equipped with toys to keep her entertained and also flexible enough, teaching while we tag-teamed to keep our toddler away from the kitchen. We each cooked a... More

This is my 2nd cooking class with Ulrike (1st was 15 yrs ago on our first visit). It was great then and even better this time around to share with my grown children! She is so knowledgeable and provides everything to make this a fantastic experience (ingredients, aprons, all utensils, WINE for the chefs, and a great sense of humor)!... More

Myself and 2 friends were staying in the Chianti region and stumbled across Ulrike's cooking class on Trip Advisor. Given her excellent reviews, and the affordability of the class, we decided to give it a shot. Between us 3 ladies, we had a complete range of culinary skills, with me being the least proficient in cooking. We were thoroughly impressed... More
