The bay that stretches round from Cefalu town is really lovely, & sandy for most of it's length, so you can walk round the bay on the sand, or on the promenade that goes the full length - lovely.

We stayed on the Cefalu Sea Palace which is has its own stretch of breath opposite the hotel and it's own swimming pool. Just a short walk into the town.
Is there any public transportation from Palermo to Cefalu? Or is renting a car required to get there?

There is a train that goes from Palermo to Cefalu. The ride was a little over and hour and the cost was around 15 euro. Definitely take the train, very easy and affordable!
