It's quite a drive from Cefalu (about 14km) but worth it. It's a lovely church, and important Marian sanctuary, and great countryside.

The Santuario is located a few kilometres outside Cefalu on the SP54 on the way to Castelbuono. It is an important shrine in the Catholic church, having been the site of several alleged miracles. It has a charming interior and the views from the terrace over the Madonie Natural park are spectacular.

Interesting place with a fascinating history. Quite a long drive from Cefalu as the road is very windy, but aren't they all? We were unlucky to visit on a very cloudy day, but the views from the belvedere in front are spectacular. Worth a trip for these alone.

Visited with large family, we all went in to church and sat down for a peaceful time. A welcomming place, tidy and well kept outdoors.

The church itself is quite dramatic in its position with views across the facing hills down to the distant coast. Once past the church the grounds provide a very interesting walk.

The scenery is and advantage, the museum is quite nice. A lot of different items, that seemingly don't fit together , but then you realize they all have something to do with the convent.

This is the place where one can admire the human artistic talent - on the right side of the entrance you can enjoy one of the best examples of the method intarsia (built-in stones in marble). Fantastic! The view is also breathtaking!

We had actually typed into our navigation to take us to Cefalu, yet it took us to this wonderful place! Completely found it by accident but no regrets!

Maybe it just was not our day. The top half of the mountain was stuck in a cloud, so there was no view. The church is pleasant enough but , contrary to the posted hours, the museum and other buildings were all closed. We did not see a soul. Unless it is a clear day, I would find something else... The sanctuary is situated not far away from Cefalu'. The location is very beautiful and the sanctuary is immersed in the greenery of the mountain from were you can admire the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and coast. This place transmit peace, silence and tranquility. The sanctuary is very well maintained & preserved. Entrance is free of charge and... More
