I don't know from to start with.I love doing scuba diving and also my son (he is 14 years old),the hard part was to convince my wife to join us.Finaly she decided to join us and after many searches and looking into reviewsers i find Sicilia Divers in Cefalu. Its a business runned by a german family Imke and Wolfgang and they are taking everything very seriously. For the beginning they will do a briefing when you will find everything you need to know about diving experience and is very useful if you are a beginner. After that they prepare your gear and you will go at the diving spot wich is from the shore(in my opinion, perfect for the beginners)inside the hotel private beach. You will dive with Imke but before proper dive you will do couple of test of how to use you gear under water, how to breathe and many safety measures. Long story short it was a wonderful experience and my wife who is afraid of such of experiences she love this dive. She was feeling safe and secure all time she was under water and she realy enjoy.I truly recomend Sicilia Divers ,they running this bussines for 30 years and they put the peoples and safety before anything else.I think Imke don't hesitate to cancel everything if something is not right or weather is not ok.Thank you again Imke and Wolfgang (i hope i write your names right,if not i know you will forget me).

Decided to bite the bullet and try scuba diving. Felt nervous but the experience was amazing. Great tuition - patient, clear, gave you confidence. Hard work walking down steps to the beach carrying scuba gear but well worth it!

The dive center is located on the premisses of the hotel and you can easily find it by car and park here. I came here for 1 day of diving, by boat. I've split my review in a summary of negative and positive experiences Negative: - It was impossible to make more than 2 dives a day, because of safety reasons which weren't explained. Never heard of this before! - During the 2nd dive our guide stayed on the boat and we where left to make our own dive. Despite having enough experience as a diver to be able to make a dive in unfamiliar water, I just can't understand why you would leave divers you're responsible for on their own. As the guide you have no idea how experienced the divers are and how they would respons if something goes wrong. - Normally a dive center makes sure that there is water and perhaps some fruit during a day of diving. We had to bring everything ourselves. Positive - The owners of the dive center are very friendly and speak correct English. - Despite being a small dive center it was all well maintained and had all facilities needed. - The boat which we went diving was well maintained and had enough room for the 5 people that day. More people would have been challenging though. - They offered a glass of wine at the end of the day. - Hired equipment was well maintained.

My daughter (12) took the Scuba Junior (**) dive class, and I did a Scuba Review (after no diving for 20 years). The instructors are a German couple that have been managing the dive center for over 30 years. The woman (Imke) is the one that normally does the diving at the Kalura house reef. She is very professional, calm and also very funny and we liked her very much. She will not take any risks (which is good) and abort a dive if there is a storm coming or if there is some other issue. My daughter loves diving now and can't wait for the next vacation. Note that you should be there 1 day early to fill out forms, and also make sure you make a resevation well ahead of time. Also, if the weather is not good, the dive might get cancelled.
