Beautiful, sometimes wonderful music, by ancient and modern mechanisms,

When I learned that in the program of our group in Cesena there was a visit at this "Museum of Mechanical Music", I didn't even conceive what it could be. In fact, I am able to remember the walking organs that sometimes traveled the streets of my city even when I was child, but I didn't know that from a phenomenon such as this (music produced not by manual action but by mechanical action on the instruments) enough matter for a museum could derive.
But here I learned - by the competent and courteous owner's explanation - that this museum is possible, and indeed in other European countries there are specialized museums like this, in a considerable amount; That this is the most important in Italy; That the owner has left this Museum as inheritance to the Municipality of Cesena; That the collections contained in the Museum are the result of careful investigations, purchases and above all restorations (funded by numerous sponsor firms).
And above all, I've been able to experience the excitement of listening beautiful, sometimes wonderful music, by many ancient and modern mechanisms.
Our group, being made up of Italians, obviously had the explanations in Italian. But, as I understand, explanations in other languages (certainly in English) are possible.
There is an appreciable restaurant attached to the Museum. I don't know if reservation there is needed. Better call or write to the Museum to know it.

Dear guest, we are delighted to have appreciated the rationality of the Musicalia Museum, the welcome received and that in this way we could deepen the theme of the Mechanical Music. This is a kind of music that enjoyed a great success during the 17th century. It was a pleasure to have it among our visitors. Museo Musicalia - Villa Silvia Carducci

The museum of mechanical music instruments is a real gem. It is open on weekends. We arrived there on a Saturday afternoon and received a private tour from the very pleasant Roberta (I hope I'm not mistaken), explaining and demonstrating all the instrument in every room. The museum is not big but it has a very nice collection of all kinds of mechanical music instrument. All in perfect shape and playing. It was a great experience for us - a family of 2 adults and 3 children. We recommend this lovely museum for all.
