Beautiful place to see. Although there are not really many things to do - if you are not planning to visit the museum ( we haven't) you probably won't be able to spend here a lot of time - we enjoyed observing birds in their natural surrounding from a wooden bridge.

Myself and 3 other family members went here as part of an all-day birding trip (see separate review for Walking in Etruria with Daniele). We did the 2 hour boat tour and saw some great birds. Highlight was viewing a thousand flamingos from one of the blinds. The Maremma area was very different than the area of Tuscany we were... More

These wetlands are filled with birds of many species and there is a walking path as well as a bird blind for viewing them. The building that houses the individuals who over see the wetlands is historic and lovely. There are resources and videos available. A great day out in the Maremma.

It's a great place to walk around and watch different birds. We used the bank of river to go there and took photos of nature.

It's a very nice area and we were amazed by the animals and birds that we saw. From flamingoes to fox which is very rare and special. Definitely recommend to go and explore the beauty of nature (we went with a guided boat tour)

Just came back from a out of season visit to the Riserva Naturale -> even when no boat trips are offered and the museum is closed, it's definitely a worthy trip... Just take one of the sign-posted itineraries, which will take you around the riserva and offers very good opportunities to explore the flora and fauna... Saw many Flamingos, Airones... More

the story of Maremma is within this reserve. Don't miss the "rose house" and learn about the efforts to separate the salt water from the normal water

the quite atmosphere of the dunes filled with pines. Ideal for riding the bicycle with your family in this beautiful part of Italy.

Close to the busy city centre, there is this easily accesible nature reserve, which has the original fauna/flora of greater parts of the Tuscan Maremma to offer. Especially for bird watching/ornithologist, it has a lot to offer in spring and autumn, but is also worth a visit for everyone else during the whole year, who is interested in nature experiences.
