Good museum, although outshone by its sister museum on the Italic tribes. La Civitella is about the Roman history of Chieti.

A lot of the exhibition information is relayed through the museum app.

At the end of summer, the grounds of the attached amphitheatre needed attention.

La Civitella Museum explores the intricate past of the Roman Empire. Its modern style structure combined with the surrounding landscape gives everyone who visits it a unique opportunity to navigate through some archaeological secrets behind one of the greatest civilizations of all times!

A lovely building, with exhibits nicely organised and presented. Anyone with an interest in local history will love it; rarely really busy.

A nice museum with good examples of some of the artifacts that have been found through the Abruzzo region. Good examples of the Roman influence and how this has helped shape the area as a whole. Worth a visit for 30-minutes or so and at a reasonable cost too

The museum building is excellent but the artifacts are mainly reconstructions out of few damaged pieces they found in excavations. Unfortunately, no one told us that to get some information of what we were looking at we needed to download an app on our phones ... we had noticed several QR codes around the museum but when we attempted to read them, there was an error so we just guessed that it was not working. Only after our visit, when exiting, we saw the sign asking to download their app to use the QR code. Therefore we just looked at things without knowing period or anything. Totally useless. Just FYI every first sunday of the month the museum is free. So you may want to go then, since there is not much to see € 4 for a ticket is a little too much.

Well displayed historical artifacts. A trip to the museum should be combined with visiting the sites in the area.

Nice setting but the exposition is so fragmented, practically nothing left, you have to have imagination to visualize the a reflects.

This museum does it right. Not only is it rich in history, but it presents it all in an exciting way, through the creative use of sound effects, lighting, etc. A must see for anyone traveling through Chieti.
