I wouldn't travel to Erice just to see Castello di Venere, but if you come to Erice then you may as well have a look here also. The views are magnificent both to the East and West, but don't expect the architecture to be too...More

Erice is an absolutely incredible place with amazing views. Take a few hours and walk up the streets, into the stores and have some pastries in some of the shops. It is a beautiful place frozen in time with an incredible castle at the top....More

This poorly maintained ruin is not really worth the effort. There is a little history given but mostly the signs just say, we are uncertain of its use or tell you what has been lost. Just clearing the weeds and ivy might help.

The entry fee for this site was 4 Euros and it was sunny and hot when we visited. What you find at this site are the castle ruins of a 12th century Norman fortress built over the ancient Temple set at the very top of...More

I thought the signs in Italian and English were nicely done. History of the place is so far reaching, it is difficult to comprehend. Views from the top are spectacular.

What van I say. From the outside the setting is downright amazing. Even where you enter the "feel" is right. But when you enter it is like an open field with some stones. There islittle story and visual. Should you therefore skipp it? The views...More

You can buy at the counter what is called the Ericepass, which gives you access to all churches and attractions in the city for a low cost of 15€. It is worth it ! The castle is a Unesco protected site and a must see...More

This is a place that you go to for the view, which is magnificent from all directions. However the castle itself compared to others that we've seen is just average. There's not much left there just ruins put it outside it is beautiful. Tickets in...More

We loved the view and the castle itself. However, although the 4 euro fee isn't that high, you honestly won't necessarily miss a thing. Up to you!

I would say about 15 minutes to walk up and down the hill plus he time of the visit (we spent about 15 minutes walking around the ruins). So about 30 minutes in total.
