I was there a couple of weeks ago. The weather was superb and I had a great day among friends. They are super nice people, very honest too. They were very patient with my lack of Italian language. Top service, top experience, would definitely come back!

We rented a small boat with Portum for a couple of hours and had a great experience. They were very helpful in getting us setup and we had a great day on the Eastern coast of Sicily. I would recommend them to anyone!

We traveled to Sicily from NYC, where 7 of us stayed in a wonderful Villa. I had researched very hard, on line, prior to departure, to find a company that would give us the best value and best trip on the sea for an entire day. And then I found Portum! The correspondence back and forth prior to our departure, and in planning the trip was flawless and easy. They responded to all of my questions, which boat would be perfect for our group, and gave me a very competitive price. So I booked the trip and sent them a deposit. The planning was professional and seamless!!!! At the last minute, just prior to departure, I even managed to change the day of the excursion due to the prediction of bad weather on our planned day. Portum was amenable to my change, and was able to switch us to another day at the last moment. We were thrilled!! The excursion itself, and our amazing captain, was perfect. Simone, a handsome young Sicilian man, was our captain for the day and he was just teriffic. He was friendly, helpful, accommodating, and even though he spoke little English, he knew what we wanted and was completely helpful with a smile all day. The boat itself, the Tullio Abbate Soleil 33, was just gorgeous and fabulous. It was completely big enough for the 7 of us.....and we loved the great padded sundeck on the back of the boat. The canopy kept us out of the blazing sun all day.....and we were surprisingly comfortable for all 8 hours. We had requested a lunch on dry land, so halfway through the day Simone pulled into a dock in a seaside village, we got off the boat, and he escorted us to a restaurant where we ate lunch, had some wine, and generally relaxed before getting back on the boat for the 2nd half of the day. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to be on the Ionian Sea for the day in a really cool boat with a really cool Captain. We stopped several times, and Simone anchored the boat while we climbed down the ladder, dove off the back of the boat, and swam in the sea. This was a magical experience. Simone was so knowledable and was pointing out points of interest all day while we were travelling south to Acitrezza and Acreale. By the end of the day, we were back in Taormina Bay, anchored, swimming, lounging, and contemplating what a wonderful experience we had just had. The excursion is not cheap, but it is certainly worth every penny and I encourage all who read this to call Portum if you are thinking of an excursion on the sea. It was dreamy and a trip you will never forget. Thanks Simone and thank you Portum for a memorable day indeed.…

We have booked a boat with this company from Sicily this summer. We have paid 5600 Euro for 3 nights and 4 days ahead in cash. One day prior to boat trip, the secretary told us we should take a ferry to go to the boat. They gave the weather as an excuse, but the motor of the boat was not good enough as we found out. The boat was very dirty, we did not want to stay in dirtiness for 1400 Euro a night. They said they dont accept cancelation and the boat was good. So we bought all new sheets and towels. Then the motor of the boat started to smoke, and technicians had to come. We were afraid even to stay on the boat. At the night, we learnt from the captain that he was going to be paid 2000 Euros for the whole trip. The next day, the captain did not want to move the boat, since motor was not right. We had to tell the portum agency that we are to go to the police to get 3 days of our money back. Although even 1400 Euros (plus 1000 euro to the captain, since we knew the agency would not pay him anything) was too high for a bad day and a half, we were thankful we got even some money back.…
