Beautiful basilica built in baroque style in XVI-XVII centuries. The facade is richly decorated. Beautiful high altar.

Well worth seeing it is quite spectacular. We could look at it from our hotel Patria Palace. You can have a baroque walking tour.

Unfortunately the basilica is undergoing restoration works (which is excellent but we were unable to see the facade of the building). It is marvellous inside but, when the works Are finished, it will look fabulous.

Sadly the exterior was being renovated but worth a visit to see the inside which was sombre but worth a look. This was built over a long period from 1549-1646 and is a good example of baroque style

The outside of the Basilica is being renovated so all you see is a picture of the outside. The inside is worth seeing. They have two paper mache sculptures at the front which are amazing.

How disappointing! According to the signs the renovation started in 2007 and should have been completed several years ago - but it is covered by a photo strung on scaffolding.

The ABC of travelling -Another Bloody Church! Yes it was, but it was a very ornate one and worth a visit, which we did, whilst on a tour of Puglia, even thou we're not religious.

When we were in Lecce, the outside of the church was covered with scaffolding because they were working on preserving this beautiful Basilica. Make sure to go inside to see the beauty of this Basilica. Also, make sure to stop by the cartapesta shops along...More

The whole of the outside of the church is covered in scafolding and you can see very little of the building either inisd eor out. A com plete waste of time until they finish the restoration
