It is an easy walk round the lake. Information boards. Several seats but much of the walk is wooded so you do not see the wonderful views.

Beautiful lake, well worth a trip if within 100 Km. Plenty to keep children and adults alike happy. Title "Jewel of the Dolomite's" well deserved.

Lake Molveno is a pearl in the Dolomites. But this year it was empty !! We have learned from the locales that in every 20-30 year the lake has to be dryed in order to clean the bottom of it, to help the working of...More

Second time in 4 years we've been here and we were quite shocked by the lack of water in the lake. Last time we came in 2013 ( also in February), the lake looked very full and very beautiful to the eye with its unusual...More

Every ten years, the lake is half emptied for maintenance work. So when we showed up the water levels were low. Which means you can walk along the lake bed. It's an incredible sight...it feels like you're walking on the moon!

I don't know if I want to tell you the truth. This place is a secret gem and I would like it stayed that way. Crystal blue lake with the back drop of the Brent's Dolomites. Activities galore. Swimming, boating, paddle boarding, paragliding, mini golf,...More

Do not miss a trip up the mountainside in/on the gondola/ski lift - with a Molveno discount card just 12 euros pp and value at twice that amount - the views of the higher dolomiti can only be labelled "fantastico"

Suggested place for family holidays, you'll find attraction for kids (a nice park just on the lakeside), but also nice place for hiking (even with stroller).

We have been going to Lake Molveno for 16 years and love it, however, i am worried about the lake being drained. We love the beauty of the lake and we are booked to go on the 16th of June until the 7th of July. Will the lake be filled before then. We can see no beauty in a drained lake for our summer holidays. You're welcome!
Booked to go here early June but heard Lake Molveno is being drained. Will it be worth visiting or should we wait till next year?

We went at Christmas... I think the lake looks amazing drained. It's like walking on the moon as you walk on the lakebed. But I must admit that if I were going in Summer I'd wait until it was full so that I could go swimming. More

Is the town shut down at Christmas time? We were considering visiting over our Christmas holiday. Is there any snowfall that time of year?
