I often return for a day at the beach in this beautiful beach composed of sand and transparent sea. The peculiarity lies in the fact that the water is shallow for several meters and is ideal if you have children. To get there is very convenient, if there is no parking near the beach you can leave your car in one of the many parking lots along the street and then take advantage of the convenient shuttle service that leaves you right in front of the beach.
You can take an umbrella in one of the many establishments, stay on the free beach or in the cool pine forest. The only drawback is the poor cleaning of public areas unfortunately that depends on us...
Dogs can enter and also bathe if you go to the dog friendly establishment.
Recommendation to stop at the Feniglia if you visit the Argentario!

We stayed for two weeks and after seeing the reviews we took a cot. The beds between them, in fact, are well detached and this makes you feel much more free and comfortable. The umbrellas, as well as cute, are a little low.
The lifeguards were not the ultimate kindness but in the end it was not a problem. The restaurant is good, recommended for the evening. The bar is a bit expensive, ice cream is expensive and so are the dishes they serve, such as fried squid.
Overall the value for money is good.

We loved the beach, both the busy end with bars and loungers for hire and the further stretches with nothing but sand and shelters made of driftwood. Also loved the pine woods, walks and bird hides behind the beach that provide wind shelter.
The beach is nice sand and the water is clean, without rocks or mud, shelving out slowly.
Really liked that people were just getting on with minding their own business, didn't hear a cross word or see any grumpiness.
We were lucky that it was within walking distance of where we were staying but there is a lot of parking and some buses.

The Feniglia nature reserve south of the Tombolo della Giannella that sincerely disappointed me - the Red House, headquarters of the WWF, closed, barred by the grim staff, dirty and bumpy road to get there -, instead I said, this other reserve, managed by the Carabinieri della Forestale, open immense cured. You travel 4km to get to the gates and then to the dunes and finally to the sea. You walk immersed in a paradise of conifers and Mediterranean shrubs. A verdant nature and, above, once blue, at the foot, a soft carpet of pine needles. Once in the sea, the wide bay opens up with the fortresses of Porto Ercole and Ansedonia at the ends. Intense, stormy sea. Dazzling light. It's September!

Very long beach in wild style, long walk through a beautiful pine forest that leads to several points. There are some establishments but also long stretches of free beach. If there is no rough sea the shore and the height of the seabed are fine even for small children.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the area...not to mention the sea! A multitude of fish of various sizes! Clean water and fine sand...not to be missed! Including the internal pine forest with many animals now accustomed to human presence... Highly recommended

Sunday 28 May 2023: walk in the Feniglia nature reserve. The Duna Feniglia nature reserve is a protected natural area located in the province of Grosseto and established in 1971. The Feniglia, located in the municipality of Orbetello, in the province of Grosseto, is a tombolo (i.e., a sand cord) that connects the hill of Ansedonia to the east and Monte Argentario to the west. It is approximately 6 km long and has a total surface area of 474 hectares. From Orbetello the Feniglia dune can be reached via the grand ducal dam, while from Ansedonia it is accessible by traveling along the Aurelia state road and then taking the municipal road that derives from it. The reserve is crossed by a dirt road built between 1928 and 1940, closed to car and motorcycle traffic, which can only be traveled on foot and by bicycle; further roads cross it perpendicularly, at intervals of approximately 1 km, some have natural surfaces, others artificial. The network formed by these roads helps to divide the forest into compartments, and allows visitors to access the sea on the beach of the same name.

La Feniglia is the southern strip of land connecting Monte Argentario to the mainland. It is a lovely nature reserve, about 6km long, consisting of marshy lagoon on one side, a sandy beach on the other and pine-covered sand dunes in the middle. Lovely for walking or cycling.

We hired bikes and cycled from one end to the other and back again. There are suitable tracks running along both sides of the strip and along the middle, so you have plenty of choice. It was a lovely cycle ride and we saw several deer and a tortoise, lots of bird and lizards, and only a couple of other people in the 3 hours that we were cycling. Wear mosquito repellant as the reserve is so near the lagoon – I got bitten twice on the face.

You can hire bikes at both ends of the strip - we hired ours from the Monte Argentario/Porto Ercole end. From the road that circumnavigates the island, follow the signs to Feniglia and park in a big car park/motor caravan park on the right. The bike hire place is on the left in the car park. It cost about E10 to hire a bike for a whole day.

If you exit the car park and turn right towards Feniglia, you will soon come across a turning on the left that takes you to the reserve (look out for a yellow signpost). If you don’t turn left here, the road takes will take you to the beach car parks and bars, if you prefer to just laze in the sun.
The beach runs along the entire south side of La Feniglia, so you have plenty of choice of where to go. It is sandy so good place for swimming.

This is six 6km of unspoiled beachfront in a national park. It is very well serviced and very well kept. There are virtually no interruptions once you are on this beach. No music, no hassle, the odd vendor and the sound of waves.

You can rent an umbrella or deck chairs, but also bring or create a small shelter fir the day.

The beach is accessible by walk or by bike from a carpark which has heated showers 1€ and costs about 6€ per day.

If you live nature and the sea and you want a place which is quiet and not overcrowded then this is for you.
