Don't miss the climb to the tower "Torre del Moro" where you will get an amazing 360 panoramic view of Orvieto (even the huge Duomo will look so small!) If you're too tired to go up using all the stairs, you can take the lift, but also still have to continue a few steps to get to the top.

My legs are sore the entire next day! It is many many flights of stairs - imagine when people had to climb this to ring the bell. The belltower still works but is now automatic. If it goes off while you're up there, watch out. You can buy the CartaUnica (a great deal) at the bookshop below the tower, which... More

Great tower to see the view of the Umbrian country side. You have to climb 147 steps after the lift ends. You get a view of the Duomo and the town.

The Torre del Moro was an inexpensive and uncrowded delight in the middle of Orvieto. The clock tower chimes every 15 minutes, and if you're at the top when it goes off, it can be startling. We timed our trip to be up and down between chimes. The views from the top were very cool in all directions. There are... More

We climbed the 200+ steps in the tower (costs 3 euros). We were rewarded with a four-sided view of the village and surrounding countryside. Friends were there when the bells chimed, but we missed that. They said it was loud!

Not a very busy touristy place and THAT is what makes this special. The views from the top are just spectacular. I was there alone and spent about an hour just admiring the views of the town down below as well as the hills in the distance. Peaceful and quiet - it's a fantastic place to watch the sunset without... More

The view from the top of this tower is amazing and refreshingly inspiring. We observed the ferie d'agosto parade to the Duomo from the tower. A truly fantastic experience. The Italian countryside is visible for miles from the top and it is also a great place to get that special sunset picture of the Duomo. The climb is fairly easy... More

The views at the top are well worth the climb! A 360 degree view of all of Orvieto await after about 200 or so steps. Gorgeous!!!
