this beach is both public and private, in that you can come with your own towels, and umbrellas and spend nothing (except parking) or do the sunbed and umbrella rental thing, which is worth it if you want to splurge. The water is super clean, the nature beautiful, the vibe mellow and fantastic, the crowds not ridiculous even in summer fortunately, it's a big wide long beach you can take walks you can swim out in shallow water that is jade color, and recommend sticking around till late afternoon on a sunny day, when the color of the water is incredible. We love this beach.

We checked this beach out after we had read reviews from others on Tripadvisor and haven't been disappointed. In our view this is the nicest place between Follonica and Punta Ala. It is surrounded by huge pine trees and has nice straw covered umbrellas and good sun beds. The place is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant is good and there are plenty tables in the shadow. Unfortunately there are only two toilets, one for men and one for women so at peak times people are lining up. But it wasn't too bad, not even in high season. Also, we always found free umbrellas and sun beds, perhaps, that has to do with the price (ERU 30 for an umbrella and two sun beds) and because there are plenty of free beaches to the right and left. Parking is close and overlooked by a very friendly guy. All those who rent umbrellas always get a guaranteed place in the shadow to park the car.
