Came across this church as we were returning to Ragusa Ibla through the side streets and it's well worth a visit. Originally built in the C14th by the Knights of Malta, it was renovated to the Baroque style in C18th. Lovely interior and we were disappointed as the next day they were parading the statue of Santa Maria through the streets but we were moving on - that would have been amazing to see.…

Very spacious interior with unusual wooden ceiling. Wonderful carving on some of the pillars and some interesting statues and paintings.

A Roman Catholic church, built in the 14th century by the Knights of Malta. It is situated in a narrow alley leading up to the plateau of Ragusa in the former Jewish quarter known as Cartellone. The church was not much damaged during the earthquake of 1693. It received its Baroque facade in 1740. The interior consists of a central nave and two aisles separated by Corinthian columns. The Cross of the Knights of Malta can be seen on the door as well as on a decoration above the door.…
