One follows via Gargnano (Gardesana Occidentale National Road SS 45bis) from the centre of Riva heading towards Limone. On the right before the tunnel, take the old road which once linked Riva del Garda with the Ledro Valley. From there one can enjoy breathtaking panoramas for once in a lifetime photo opportunities.

It was nice and not hard but lot of crazy montainbikers going too fast down the path. I say it is dangerours to go there with children. And as the path is unpaved, bikes some times is under control going so fast...

This is a nice route for a walk or cycling. The route is wide enough for both. The views are fabulous as you go up and there is a little café for refreshments at the half way point.

Did this walk today. The recent upgrades have separated hikers and mountain bikers and we had no problems. The views are stupendous, we carried onto Pregestana, where there is a lovely cafe, and caught the free bus back. A walk definitely worth doing for the...More

Gorgeous views but some of the cyclists seem to whizz past far too fast. Take water and your camera and office course good walking shoes.

Great views and a lovely walk, ruined by inconsiderate mountain bikers. If you don't mind hundreds of mountain bikers zooming past you within a few inches, this is the walk for you. We walked on a Monday in May, I shudder to think what it...More

We took the walk up the Ponale path on our last day in Riva. It was a last minute decision and we were glad we did it. The walk offers you an amazing panoramic view of the lake and mountains . The walk is not...More

My boyfriend and I walked this path in the summer. The views were absolutely beautiful, and so spectacular. There is one cafe that we found on our walk, but we didn't stop as we carried on. We took our own lunch and plenty of water...More
