This imposing structure was built in the 1920s to generate power from Lake Ledro which is channelled through a pressurized tunnel in the rock. The architect behind the project was Giancarlo Maroni. The numen aquarum on the facade was the work of the sculptor Silvio Zaniboni.

Standing by the side of the lake we initially thought that this building was another Hotel. It blends into the area so well and you would not expect to be told that it is the Hydroelectric power plant

But it will not cost you anything to stroll along from the ferry port for a bit. I think that sometimes you can visit it but it was not open when we went.
