This power station is adjacent to theharbour and could hardly be missed and it's supply pipes run down the mountain side to this rather imposing double fronted building on the other side of the road to the harbour. It had an "Open Today" sign at the front which I hadn't seen in previous years. Although we didn't tour, I am... More

This is a free attraction . Some time ago Riva got its electricity from here buy it pumping water from Lake Garda up to a lake above in the morning and back down in the evening supplying the town with electricity . It is interesting to see the actual internal workings .

Standing by the side of the lake we initially thought that this building was another Hotel. It blends into the area so well and you would not expect to be told that it is the Hydroelectric power plant

As we walked along the lakeside towards the ferry terminal we could see what looked like a funicular climbing from what looked like an hotel at the lakeside. But we were wrong, and wrong again. The “hotel” turned out to be a hydro-electric power station and the funicular was actually the piping from the plant going up and over the... More

But it will not cost you anything to stroll along from the ferry port for a bit. I think that sometimes you can visit it but it was not open when we went.

Yes, agree with previous reviewers, very beautiful art deco building. One can only ask 'why?' It's quite a stunning building, tucked away in a shady corner of Riva.

An amazing building right at the harbourside. It looks like a museum or a church from the fascade. Typical Italian beauty.

Alongside the ferry ticket office so worth a stare while you await the boat. It maybe an industrial building but someone woke up one morning and decided that this would be the location of a memorable building on a super grand scale and their inspiration is our benefit.

Art-deco meets fascist era 'le grand project', anywhere else other than lakeshore would be interesting industrial heritage, but here 'que sera meilleur' buried in the mountain?
