We visited this beach twice and had two very different experiences during our stay in Sant Agnello. We wanted to visit the local beach rather than go into sorrento in the spirit of helping the locals but the service was not up to scratch at all. The first time we went we got two sun beds and an umbrella on the beach and had drinks and food amounting to around 150 euros all in, which was fine as we had a nice afternoon there. We tried to reserve some beds for the next day but the webpage is not the easiest to navigate so just showed up the next day. When we arrived at around 10:30 we were told there were no beds left, despite there being around 50 vacant beds. In the end we went to the ‘free’ beach next to the la marinella and paid 10 euro for 2 deck chairs, with la marinella branding on them. This was fine too - and we were glad to get somewhere to sit by the beach. We then went for food and drinks over lunch at la marinella spending no around 60 euros. Just as we were about to leave, on the way to the toilet and shower area, I was shouted at by one of the male staff that this was a private beach and I couldn’t walk through to use the toilet - despite us spending around 200-300 euros in this location. The man was SO aggressive and rude, I have never been so embarrassed and when I tried to explain we had been to his area of the beach next door and used the restaurant for food he continued to barge me out of the area. This completely spoilt the day and honestly would not recommend anyone to go there after this experience.

I have never experienced such creepy and rude treatment towards guests. Our visit began with the guard at the entrance to the elevator asking us in a blatantly contemptuous manner if we knew the price of the entrance ticket, to which we replied that we did. However, he aggressively demanded that we name the price and wouldn't let us towards the elevator until we did. We had to find and show him the voucher from our apartment for entry to the beach club.

There were only two women’s toilets for the whole beach, and an employee stood by, making sure people didn’t stay too long, even knocking on the doors. One girl felt sick and took a bit longer, but the employee still knocked, telling her to hurry up. Yet, another visitor cut the entire line, and the employee took her to the men’s toilet.

The staff inside were also rude. When we tried to buy drinks at the restaurant, the administrator ignored us, chatting with her colleagues instead. Once, I walked from the beach to the bar area where there were no signs saying I couldn’t.
When I directly asked them about it, they pretended as if nothing was happening. The bartender and waitresses laughed and chatted with each other, ignoring me, and reluctantly took my order only after I had waited for a while and repeatedly tried to get their attention.

The next day, my friend tried to use the paid elevator, but when she got down, the guard yelled at her that they wouldn’t open for another half hour, pushed her back to the elevator, and even grabbed her arms. She wanted to pay for the elevator and go to the free beach below, but they made her go back up and take a long, difficult staircase down, even though the exit was right next to the elevator and reception.
The staff is rude, disrespectful, and disregards personal safety. This was the worst service experience of my life. The ticket price was 17 euros.

As a group of girls we felt very uncomfortable here with the staring we got from older men. It was very unpleasant as it lasted hours I never experienced anything like it in my life!! The water was clean and nice location. There is also a lift but it closed before 7pm unfortunately we had to walk back up the hill.

When arriving we were told all full. But when we checked more than half of the sunbeds were available. We then afsked if it was because of prebooking, and the persons at the entrance said they did not know. We then afsked if they knew why there were so many beds available and they said we don't know. Abysmal service. Don't go there

I've been coming here for years,
But unfortunately I must say that the beauty of the place does not marry at all with the arrogance and pettiness of the spouses who run it.
A slap in the face to the citizenship of Sant’Agnello that would surely deserve the best managers of the only beach in the beautiful town of Sorrentino.
Arrogance, costume and pettiness is the calling card of the managing spouses of the lido.
Today I witnessed the unlikely, when at the end of the day a woman visibly tried by her health problems, asked to be able to get back on the elevator, obviously paying.
The managers did not want the lady to use the elevator just because she had been to the free dock where among other things she had still consumed at the bar and rented at the beach chairs and umbrella.
A disgusting and nauseating scene.
The lady was humiliated by that kind of manager,
The world turns and first the then everyone will be repaid with the same currency.
VERGOGNA!!!!

Clean, well equipped and managed, but charged €37 for 2 beds and an umbrella, yet the place was rammed. The sand is not traditional sand as we Brits know it, but black volcanic gritty stuff. Toilets and changing huts available, again, clean and well managed.

Arrived today at 9.30. We really wanted a bed on the side of the water. We were told they were all reserved! 40+ beds in the best positions are reserved today! Their own website states beds and umbrellas CANNOT be reserved. We were told the people reserving them had them for 15 days! As a women was shown to her reserved bed, money changed hands, make your own minds up!

I had a bad experience in this place because of their receptionist. It was a sunday morning, my friend and I decided to try this beauty beach in Sorrento. We arrived there at 1.00pm after a long travel. We asked two sun beds, but the receptionist told us the beach was busy. (She never 'look us) so we asked if we can wait there. She looks us angry and told us: " it's useless! It's sunday and it's 1.00pm we open at 9.00! It's to late!why don t you come here before? " i think it's a terrible behavior with customers She told us a lie, because there were some Free sun beds. Maybe they need education with customers.

Charged €35 for two beds(the most expensive we came across on our travels), then told no beds available in the designated rows but we could have beds placed in the walkway. No mention of a discount for this less than desirable location of the beds. We decided instead to ask for a refund. We were followed to the desk by a very aggressive male worker who said we were lying about there being no bed available. He refused to accept it was unreasonable to expect us to lie in the walk way. Plenty of ‘reserved’ beds empty.. We managed to get the full refund but we were asked how much we paid... is it not a set price??
We then went for a lovely walk to Piano di Sorrento on the outskirts of Sant’Agnello and found a great public beach, with sunbeds available for €4.

First they told us there were no chairs available so we were planning to go to the free part of the beach.
Downstairs the lady at the register told us that there were chairs available but only on the beach. So we bought a ticket (24euros for 2 chairs and an ambrella) and found a chair on the beach. After 2 min a man came and said that we could not sit there but we could sit a bit further, not on the beach. So we moved out stuff. Again we found a chair and the man said ' no, not on the first row. It's reserved'
There were no signs that it was reserved. He was very rude and just wanted us to sit were he wanted. Our view were metal stairs. The whole time we were there nobody came to sit on the other chairs.
If you want a nice beach experience go somewhere else.

Dear Sarah, We are desolate for your comment: despite the crowded months of August, a seat was found for you ... and we had this review as a result! Furthermore, as you can see from the other reviews, the courtesy of the Marinella staff is renowned everywhere in the Sorrento Peninsula! We regret that you have not been able to grasp this quality of ours. Greetings, The staff
