I climbed to the crater with Magmatrek which was very well organised and professional. The climb up is steep but nice and slow with lots of breaks. You must Wear proper hiking boots and I highly recommend hiring walking poles and gaiters - to keep the soft black ash from entering your boots and to assist your balance and knees,... More

A thoroughly excellent day out. We left Milazzo at midday, called in to Lipari, to collect more passengers and then it was on to Panarea where there was time for a leisurely lunch - although we had eaten some Arancini from the cafe on board, so sampled the delicious granita from the Bar di Carola on the waterfront. . Then... More

A great relaxing day visiting local islands and culminating with a sunset tour of the active Volcano... Something that has to be experienced...to see & feel mother nature at her finest.

Since recorded history Mt. Stromboli has been a beacon for sailors in the eastern Mediterranean near Sicily and the Italian coast. We approached Stromboli on a Cruise Ship at about 9PM having traversed the Strait of Messina earlier in the day. It was dark, and the moon was trying to punch through the clouds - we positioned ourselves outside on... More

Walk is quite challenging, especially when your guide is in hurry to get to the top and rushes to get down. Volcano not very active at our time but still had fantastic sights and sounds. Important to know that in windy weather most ferries and boats are cancelled, so you could be disappointed and not get there on a planned... More

We took Bartolo's boat to see the Tower of Fire but unfortunately, the volcano was not active. We did have a quiet and peaceful night and viewed a spectacular sunset from the water. The price of the excursion was very reasonable and even included a nice liqueur tasting. Bartolo did not speak English but we had enough Italian Speakers on... More

You not only get to see explosions at night-time which are pretty cool, you get to see the sun-set and you get to look down into the craters at the top - very special indeed. If you can physically get to the top on your own it is well worth the effort. I hiked with MAGMATREK (in the centre of... More

I chose Quota900 / Franco because of a very favourable review with the hope to have a smaller group with smaller company. I booked three days before our trip and Franco confirmed at that time that Stromboli shows "good" activity. Upon arrival on Stromboli, the volcano was very quiet and Franco admitted that the volcanic activity had been low for... More

Awesome volcano but you need to stay here for a week or so to ensure you will see activity. There is no guarantee. Also best for yachters to visit Aeolians more than anyone.

Paid 180 euros with thomson organised trip for 2 people . Was a long day out from 09.00 _ 23.30 hours. Got there and black sand on the beach , and town at the bottom of volcano . Was purposed to see nightly eruption from the boat , and people on the boat blocked my view where I was sitting... More
