We spent part of a rainy afternoon at the Villa Ponza. Even if you are not a fan of modern art, the villa and gardens are beautiful. The audioguide (included in the ticket price) gives details about the Ponza family and the collection. Kids would love the neon light installation on the second floor.

Old villas and art are not always a good combination but here it really works very good. A large collection of monochrome paintings and neon art in old stables. Highlight was the James Turrel installation.

This is an extraordinary minimalist art collection in a beautiful villa. The Meg Webster Cone of Water is breathing. As is the corridor of Dan Flavin installations and the James Turrell Ganzfeld. Gardens with sculpture are beautiful.

Owned by the FAI, the Italian National Trust, the villa and gardens are beautiful. I'm not a great fan of modern art but seeing modern pieces in an 18th century villa is very interesting. What we liked best were the light installations of coloured fluorescent tubes - standing in those rooms among the different colours was an interesting experience. For... More

Three hours of enjoyment! The juxtaposition of truly wonderful modern art and the history of the venue combine to make this an extraordinary experience. Our most memorably part of this visit was the time we spent in the James Turrell exhibit -- Engaging, thought provoking and delightful! Additionally, we enjoyed an excellent light lunch at the Luce Cafe in the... More

A private house, donated by Count Panza di Biumo to FAI (Italian National Trust), contains one of worlds largest collections of works of Turrell and Irwin;regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions. The house and the park are wonderful.

Attended a couple of friend's wedding and this venue is really out of this world! The villa was wonderful and the park outside was like a mini Versailles!

It has been decades since I have been here but it is a beautiful, magical, mystical place. The contemporary art displayed in an 18th century villa is astounding. I don't know if the Sol Lewitt wall is still there, but the experience of seeing that piece in that beautiful setting has stayed with me this long and very few experiences... More
