We were here on a weekday with fewer people and easy parking. Very nice to walk around and enjoy the views. If you want, there are restaurants where you can a enjoy a leisurely lunch.

What is really interesting here is the Museo Pogliaghi. The guy put up an incredible collection of classical and oriental art, small objects, devices. Highly recommended.

I would suggest moving around. Lago Maggiore is within a reasonable distance, Lake Como about 1-1/2 hrs away, and there are a number of Sacro Monte sites in the region as well.
