Whilst on holiday in the Dordogne a must is a visit to the market at Brantome. It is a busy town on a normal day but market day brings more locals out. Parking was easy by the river but make sure yo follow signs down the river at the beginning of the village as parking in the town is virtually... More

Of the markets we have visited this is by far our favourite. Whilst the picturesque town of Brantome attracts lots of tourists in the holiday season it still attracts lots of locals helping to retain its Frenchness. There are lots of nice places to eat and drink. I particularly enjoy a crepe from the van in the market. I would... More

This town is one of the stunning locations I love to visit when I come to France every year. Make sure you take a camera, you will get some beautiful pictures on the bridges and by the river. The Market is very good and there are plenty of lovely places to eat if you spend the day there.

Beautiful town with winding river through. Make a day of it and go canoeing. But the market is wonderful. Busy and with the usual tat, the fruit, veg and local produce is what you come to France for. Artfully displayed and a lovely market experience. All with a jaw dropping back drop. Really worth a visit. But park and walk... More

It's a fairly typical French Dordogne area market, but in a great location with easy access to parking. If you're in the area on a Friday morning and enjoy browsing markets, it's certainly worthwhile going.

Plenty of variety and quality looked good ( can't vouch for women's clothes). So many markets in some parts of Brittany where we live are full of tat so it was a breath of fresh air. Plenty of humour and could relax and have fun.

Brantome's market is fantastic selling lots of locally produced food as well as everything from friendship brackets to clothes to toys to sweets. Watch out on the sweet stall as it's charged by weight!! Also available are Henna tattoos done by a great lady who is English living here. Besides the market there are some great restaurants as well as... More

We went as a family to investigate whether my daughters fancied the kayaking and take in the market at the same time. We werent disappointed at all, great market, stunning setting- but no secret as it was packed, but very enjoyable all the same.

Walked around here after canoeing on a Friday (see other review of Brantome Canoe) as we needed some food for dinner. Was pleasantly surprised at the variety of things on sale, food and otherwise, so ended up with loads more than expected. All the stallholders were friendly and often had produce to try. Not the largest market but got a... More

The market is a mix of food, locally-produced gifts and the usual market stall staples. It is buzzy but still plenty of space to wander around. Worth a look if staying in the local area. There is still plenty of parking in the town, even on market day.
