What a fabulous place!

It's quite a hard walk up to the lake (or you can get a chair lift and walk a shorter easier route) But wowweee it's worth the effort either way. Lovely little welcome... read more

It's quite a hard walk up to the lake (or you can get a chair lift and walk a shorter easier route) But wowweee it's worth the effort either way. Lovely little welcome 'Surprise' cafe at the top, with stunning views! (And wine ;) We walked up, and took the shorter walk and chair lift down (more for the experience... More

We were in Lourdes from October 10 till 13 and wanted to visit the Pont d'Espagne and the lake; we asked at the Tourism Office in Lourdes who told us we can take bus 941 from the train station to Cauterets and then a taxi to Pont d'Espagne & visit both sites. Upon arrival to Cauterets, we asked at the... More

It’s a long and very winding drive to get there, but you just have to keep going until the very end, literally until the road stops. We had to pull-over on the way and ask someone, because it seemed to be taking so long, when it looks like nothing on the map. They say the French aren’t very good at... More

Short 15 minute walk from the telesiege lift along a fairly well kept path which is accessible for all but wheelchair users. We sat at the restaurant overlooking the Lac for a spot of lunch. The sun was shining and the snow glinting on the top of the Pyrenees...the perfect day and worth the effort & cost

This was our consecutive trek after Pic Du Midi. We chose it as it wasn't a long one . There is a car park at the base and parking charges are 6€ which is very reasonable. The hike is about 3km plus and is very interesting . Not a gradual one but it's manageable . It takes about an hour... More

Mixed weather day so took advantage of the shuttle bus from Cauteret bus station with the cable car and ski lift used from Pont de Espange. Bus is 7.5 euro return and combined cable car and ski lift ticket a further 13 euro but its well worth it and you can cut out the cable car and ski lift by... More

The walk here itself is beautiful. It's not the easiest of climbs but there were small children doing it and people of the older generation. Take water for the walk. You can top up once you get to the lake. You will get very hot during the walk so wear little and get your sun cream on . Not to... More

Mountains r just amazing n from the parking took about 1hr n a bit on a fair pace. I recommend to all nature lovers even... More

We took the 2 cable cars from the big Parking area because it was drizzling. The 1st base is near to Pont d'Espagne, so when you return from the lake take the cable to only base one, and from there walk to see the bridge and then to the parking area. The walk to the lake from 2nd base is not...
