Always want to know what's beneath the centre of Arras? Take this tour and explore the several purposes of the caves beneath street level. From the early 9th century to World War 1!

Loved this tour. The guide was brilliant. She spoke beautiful English and kept checking we understood what she'd said. The tunnels are really interesting...carved out in the 16th century, then had a range of uses as the years passed. Particularly enjoyed the historical facts as we went through. Tour took about 45mins. Make sure you're a mobile one, as quite... More

Entrance under the tourist office. Probably for safety reasons, only a small portion of the underground quarry is open for the tour. Lots of information, but nothing of any substantial value. 12° C in the tunnels under the Place des Heros, a bonus as it was below zero outside.

As on of the top attractions of Arras i had hoped this would be a little more exciting. The tour lasted about 45 mins and there were some interesting points but nothing to really make you want to go back or highly recommend to others. The tour guide was ok and she did her very best with a difficult crowd,... More

This 45 minute tour takes you under Arras into the quarry tunnels. Whilst it's interesting, it's made a little tedious by having mixed language tours, and as the commentary his fairly lengthy, and is repeated in different languages, if you don't have an engaging tour guide it can become quite dull! Still, it's not a bad rainy day activity, and... More

We had a bilingual tour in English and French, with Naomi, who was very knowledgeable. Very interesting to see all the tunnels, and amazing how big they are! Worth a visit.

If you don't speak French, Google as much information as you can before you go. Our guide had very basic English. Her explanations in French would last 2 minutes, then the English translation would last 30 seconds.

Very interesting tour (45 minutes) providing primarily the origins of the quarrying in the area however there was also some information about the war time and allies contributions. Recommend combining with Le Beffroi d’Arras and Carriere Wellington for €12

Worth a visit but must check available times as it is only guided tours, good history of the tunnels and how they were used from the 14th century to the modern day.
