During the day the once quaint Main Street is wall to wall tourists, walking like zombies past shops and restaurants to get to the abbey. The shops and restaurants very from nice to somewhat typical and then to then don’t bother stage. However they have...More

A necessary evil if you intend to visit the Abbey. Traders have been in this street since the building of the site. Catering for the needs of the artisans and wider crafts. Unfortunately they are at odds with the respect built above. We all have...More

Very, very busy with people pushing you down the hill. Lots of eateries, gift shops and hotels. Good place to park people in your group who may not be able to do the climb to the Abbey at the top of the Mount.

We came back down from the abbaye through here (we’d walked up via the ramparts). It was extremely busy and we were walking against the crowds. There are many shops and more restaurants but we almost got swept past them by the mount of people.

This is a neat old street, winding its way up the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel. If you are hungry, don't stop to eat at the first restaurant you see. Go higher to get to the highest restaurant on the street. It has the same...More

We had a great time walking the boulevard, but let me acknowledge we started our walk later in the day, about 5:00.

There are plenty of tourist stores here as well as a zillion tourists, but it's still fun to walk through (not that you have a choice as it's the main street). Like going to a Renaissance Fair but this is (almost) the real thing.
