Take the little detour from the main steps to see over the bay. From here you get a good view up to the Abbaye and it is less crowded. You can then decide to climb higher or return via the ramparts

Make your personal souvenir: write or draw something in the sand and walk on the top of this tower to take a picture. If not just watch the tide, the view is very nice.

this is a perfect place to watch the tides. you have a vantage point and can see the wave approaching fast from far away and then building up in front of you. awesome!

We came here on our way to see the tide rise in the morning, and it was just a beautiful place to take it all in. Looking up at the Abbey, medieval streets and seagulls flying around. Very cool fortification architecture.

I was lucky to catch Mont Saint-Michel on a sunny gorgeous day. The view from the north tower just goes on and on, out over the water or the mud flats, depending on the tide.

Unlike the West Terrace this looks at Normandy only. It is harder to get to than the West Terrace but is worth seeking out, perhaps after doing a tour of the Abbey. 1804

From this vantage point, you can take a lovely photo of the abbey that really captures the scale and steepness of the mont.

NIce spot to take a breather and look out across the sand flats (or water) to get a full sens of the scale of Mont St Michel. Although out of season this area was already fairly crowded so do not expect to be able to...More
