We arrived as they were doing a demonstration of the lace making which the guy explained as he went along which really brought it to life. Staff were helpful, and we also saw a temporary exhibition which was good too.

We were expecting a museum that I would find interesting and my husband would not. We were pleasantly surprised with the range of interest this peaked! This had a special fashion exhibit that neither of us really understood (not into fashion, but others may like...More

Visited here as part of a press trip and was blown away, excellent guided visit with first class explanation of the history of the Calais lace industry. Museum and exhibits all superbly presented with working machines producing lace, nice to see machines made in Nottingham

I have strong connections to lace as my granddad was a lace designer so I fully appreciate the type of work or should I say "art".

Too big for us to cover the whole place, lots of shops. The food and drink was rather expensive. The shopping seemed reasonable.

It was very empty the day we went. Just your normal shopping centre with lots of shopping. Big shops of every kind. I did find it yo be quite expensive, probably more so than your average high street shops.

Wheelchair accessible, plenty of room to manoeuvre, wheelchair lifts where necessary. Nice lace exhibits and plenty to see. The live demonstartion of the lace machines would have been better if the talk was in english and not just in french.

It is a fascination complex about 15/20 minutes gentle stroll from Place D'Armes. On the way to the lace museum have a wander around the town hall gardens and the impressive statue of the Six Burghers by Rodin. You can do as much as you...More
