I have to admit that despite being a francophile and reasonably well read in European literature I had never heard of Daudet. Its a nice walk from the town of Fontvielles but don't expect anything exciting

The mill that is supposed to have had a role in Daudet's work is situated close to the main road, so that it only requires a short walk from the spacious parking. As the path goes uphill quite steeply, I doubt that it is accessible...More

This stone windmill is only of interest to people who enjoy the writer Daudet's work, we feel. Nothing special and it sits alone in the countryside. Not worth a detour.

This is a pleasant walk up the hill from the car park, through the typical scrub vegetation. Nice view from the top, including the windmill and other windmills visible amongst the trees. But not worth it for the windmill alone.

As windmills go, it is not especially big or attractive, so it is only important for its history and Daudet connectiontion. You can go inside for a small fee and see the internal mechanism. It is located in a grat location with beautiful views.

A small windmill that has been renovated on the hillside a short stroll and an even shorter car journey from the town centre. Obviously a popular site for schoolchildren to visit as there were several coachloads of them here. Large car park although no-one taking...More
