These ruins are quite impressive, but we could only see from outside the fence as it did not appear to be open. Worth the trip.

The Roman attractions are divided into two main areas with extremely impressive archeological remains. Very extensive and well excavated ruins comprising dwellings from humble to extravagant. Well explained functions. The Archaeological Museum pulls it all well together. Nice story.

I happened to come across these ruins, and the sheer scale was really astonishing. It makes Vaison la Romaine a worthwhile visiting stop, along with the medieval quarter on the other side.

If you go to the Provence to find traces of the Roman occupation, this site is a must. you get two settlements for one admission ticket. You will see a Roman theater, Roman burial site complete with sarcophagi, residential areas, and visit a marvelous museum.

The ruins are quite extensive. There is a nice museum and you can get an audio guide to help you when you walk around the site. Morning is the best time to go during the hot days of summer
