Les Gets - All year round 😎

Fabulous place to visit both in Winter and in Summer, so much going on 🙂 The skiing is right there by the village and then in summer the atmosphere is lively and upbeat with Biking and walking on offer

This station was very nice for a summer or winter stay in this city. It was 11:30 a.m. Nice, allowing many options.

An amazing resort connecting you to a big ski area. Challenging in the morning with significant queues.

Great skiing.

A pretty area with lovely views from the top. Not the best for learners, as limited nursery slope, but lots of lovely blue and red runs.

In my top two ski resorts
Jan 2020
I hadn't been back to Les Gets for a while - it was where i originally learned to ski however, it's altitude always made it hit or miss when it comes to snow during the Easter school holiday. Now we have no constraints in that direction we thought we would re-visit during January.
Although expanded Le Gets has still retained the charm and traditional face that I remembered but with more great restaurants both in the town and on the slopes and of course some good bars for apres ski activities.
The sun shone every day and fortunately there was plenty of snow. Being lower the lower tree lined slopes provide an excellent vista whilst further up there are some nice wide reds and blues that even a beginner would be able to enjoy.
The chalet did help the experience - we rented a very nice 4 bed chalet right on the slopes equipped with both hot tub and sauna.
I really enjoyed my return to Les Gets and so did my adult family who are all far better skiers than me.
The only negative was that may of the chair lifts were old and slow and do need upgrading.
Otherwise my best skiing holiday for many a year.
I should also mention that this year we decided to fly and the transfer from Geneva is a little over an hour - having said that Geneva airport is a nightmare and to be avoided - lack of facilities/and chairs and expensive - who said everything Swiss is like clockwork!
So next year I may decide to drive as it is one of the closest resorts from Calais.
I do not intend to mention the name of the chalet we rented as that's a secret and we want to re-book for 2021

A visit not to be missed. Beautiful and breathtaking scenery. Amazing!

Best to engage an instructor for first-timers. The ski lift has a flow of movement which only the experienced will appreciate. Always ski with a buddy.

Nice but impossibly crowded
Dec 2019
Nice village, quite authentic, but far too crowded. There are constructions of new buildings all around the place, small roads, cars parking everywhere. It's very difficult to walk around the village. And it's even worse on the skying slopes as the overall skying domain is very small. Les Gets should stop building new appartments and focus more on infrastructures.

Lovely resort.
Mar 2019 • Friends
Maybe we were spoilt by the ideal conditions but Les Gets seemed to be pretty perfect every time we skied through it (we were staying in Morzine).
The pistes were always well groomed in the mornings, the lifts were pretty efficient (a couple need replacing soon) and the signage did its job well.

Great for kids
Feb 2019 • Family
It is quite small, even with the Morzine link. If you want to do the full Portes du Soleil, getting to Avoriaz is quite a faff (a ten/15 minute walk in Morzine, with skis over your shoulder, and then a few lifts to actually get there, or you can get a bus to an Avoriaz lift). Pistes well groomed, and there is something for everyone (moguls, reds, blacks etc., and area the other side of the resort if you follow the sun etc). I found the piste map relatively unhelpful as I suspect the resort is so small people just 'know it' from day one, so they don't bother having a lot of signs giving names of lifts and pistes. The area is well known for being friendly to young kids, even the bus around the resort is a choo choo train, and there are lots of cute plastic animals by pistes that are young child centred. Night life pretty dead/non-existent. Buses to/from Morzine (a pretty large town, by ski standards) stop at 6
