Whats not to love

Absolutely enthralling. We've been coming here for years and there are still things to see and do that we haven't already done. An absolute gem.

This place never ceases to amaze me, the way that not only can you visit authentic houses, shops etc. They are decorated and the staff are dressed and act the part. Everyone is happy to answer questions and play along no matter if you are the first or last person to visit them that day. Lots to see and visit,... More

Beamish is a long-established museum. Each of the buildings has been brought from elsewhere in the county and reassembled here. The process continues and so far has produced a high street, drift mine, tramway, garage, chapel, Masonic hall and much more. There is a cafeteria, restaurant and various snackeries as you wander round. The setting is beautiful and easily-reached. there is... More

We arrived as the museum opened, we left as it closed; and we had a fabulous day in between! There is a bit of everything here, whether your interest is mining, farming, transport or just general history, you will find something that grabs your interest. The children (obviously) favoured the sweet shop, whereas us adults enjoyed the olde worlde style... More

I never get bored of visiting Beamish! It's much more than a museum, it's getting the chance to experience everything the way it once was.

We had a really enjoyable day here walking round in the sunshine The museum is varied and interesting set over a large area which can be walked or reached by the free buses and trams. It was not overly busy and the staff were friendly and informative There are places to buy food and picnic benches for those who choose... More

Good job when you pay your entrance you get all year round admittance as I didn't see nearly half. I only managed to see Plonkley Hall, the steam trains, the church, the animals and the Town so planning another visit pretty soon. It is AMAZING, the tram or trolley bus takes you between places and that is pretty good to... More
