We took a guided tour of this historic building. The stories that were told, including the burying of a pope here, as well as the horseman, were very interesting. The restoration process has been extensive and is ongoing.

Situated at the top of a hill this is a beautiful church. The walk from the town is up a steep incline but relatively easy to climb if you're fit. It can however be reached by bus. At the time of our visit scaffolding had...More

Not only is the cathedral spectacularly beautiful, outside and inside, but it contains superb works of art, most notably the famous Bamberger Reiter and the great tomb carved by Tilman Riemenschneider. An added bonus is the view over Bamberg. This is a must-visit building.

There are two reasons why you should visit the church; firstly the views of Bamberg from the church are amazing, and secondly, the church has some very special crypts, including one of a pope. If you are in Bamberg, this is a must visit.

De Bamberger Dom is situated on a great spot, overlooking the city of Bamberg and some of it's surroundings. However, the interior was a great dissapointment. This has a couple of reasons: - The church is way to busy with tourists who don't give anything...More

Went inside very nice, we were told by the guide, that it is the only church with a statue of a horse inside. The pipe organ has to be played by remote control, as the original area was built for the size of people of...More

Hi, We visited this year and I see from the plan that the Sacrament Chapel is marked number 13 and is on the left hand side entering from Adam's Portal just before The Chapel of the Nail. Hope this helps.
