This open chair lift takes you to the top for fantastic views of the Rhine where it takes a nearly 360° turn. There are two small restaurants at the top where you can sample the excellent local wines as you savor the views of vineyards and the river below. At certain angles the river looks divided as if it is... More

We took the train to Boppard, then walked to the north end of town to the Sessellift. It would be nice if there were more signs to it. A couple of other people asked us if they were going the right way. All I knew was that it was on the north end. IT was easy to find. The trip... More

It was strongly recomended to go up with a cable car for observation. the cable car completely open. Swaying in the wind, and those who do not fear from heights, will fear. Was the nightmare of my life. 20 minutes going up, didn't look at the landscape because had terrible anxiety. Top observation as worth it but try to find... More

Best way to see the town and Rhine Valley; a relaxing 10-15 min ride up in an open gondola. We went in autumn so it was pretty cold (rug up); the vines were a beautiful mixture of green and gold. You can get something to eat and drink at the top, plus a good walk around to take in more... More

What a beautiful view! We were there at harvest. Take some time to walk around when you reach the top. I believe there is a little restaurant there.

It's a pretty easy walk up to the lookout with great views over the loop in the Rhine. And if it's a chilly day, the first café has a fire, is delightfully warm and serves a tasty mulled wine!

Well worth the effort and worth the extra hike to at least the first cafe for the views of the river.

chair lift travels at a nice easy pace, giving one plenty of time to take in the stunning views. there are a couple of café/restaurants within easy walking distance ( 5-10 minutes) of the top. a nice easy way to spend an hour or two. ( think the chair lift took about 20 minutes each way). don't think we'd do... More

The scenery is so beautiful, you forget you are on a chairlift. It moves slow enough to get some great views and photos. It is a bit of a hike to the observation areas going up and down hills, but it is worth it.

Easy access to the top. Nice views from the restaurants above. One day return trip (lift) and the other day walked down following the road back to Boppard...
