Our main reason to visit the area was to enjoy the river as it twists through its valley. Much less commercial than the Rhine and more relaxing as a consequence. Its said there are 3 million vines in the valley, but we are sure thats an under-estimation

To make a round by car and stop-over every beautiful villages could be my enjoyable moment to last worth remembering and returning after such a time. We with my husband were fascinated by the beauty of the place and the villages we visited. The Mosel Valley is one of the beautiful and wonderful places we visited so far. There were... More

The beauty of the area cannot be overstated. We stopped at the bend of the Moselle and just stared with our mouths open! It's amazing that the grapes from the vineyards can be picked considering how steep the hills are!!!

Spent a week in the Mosel Valley and I did not want to leave. Vineyards up the steep hills producing some the best wine in the world. Small towns with friendly people, Castles on the Hills, Some Intact, Some Ruined, and some operated by vineyards. There is no rushing around and busyness like other parts of the world. If you... Although we did not directly visit the village, we did visit a castle above the river and took photos of the castle and of the village below. Was a very nice and scenic area; wish we had had more time. We were enroute from Trier back to a relative's home several hours away. Beautiful area!

This is a very beautiful part of Germany where the Moselle River gently wends its way through its narrow valley from one picture-perfect town or village to another. Traditional half-timber houses and beautiful little churches mingle with a fewer number of equally beautiful modern homes. With the exception of the rockiest parts the slopes of the Moselle Valley are occupied... More
