First I have to say that Gruyere Cheese has no holes, that's Emmental Cheese ;) Second, Gruyere is such an amazing town in the middle of the mountains. Breathless views, and by viewing the castle is easy to imagine how was the life in the...More

The castle is scenic and picturesque but it is not equally attractive inside. The old story of the castle (duchies of Burgundy...) has been mostly erased in the 19th century and much of the furniture is not original. There is a lot about the family...More

Walking around the castle allows you to have a 360°view of the surrounding and to enjoy the panoramic scene. The castle itself is also worth a visit.

The town of gruyere is beautiful...from the setting to the cobblestone streets. The castle is lovely and worth visiting. However, I would not waste your time going to the (free) movie about the history of the castle. That was 20 minutes I can’t get back.
