Centuries ago the town was made almost impregnable by its fortress, which resists the passage of time on a rocky crag. This walled precinct is reached through the pretty streets and public squares of this charming village. The walled area, which has great views over the surrounding area, is thought to have been built by the Moors in the ninth... More

We drove here in a hire car on the way to visiting the caves above the village. We parked on the edge of the village. Drivers should be prepared for a steep road and hairpin bends. We enjoyed pottering around the town which was very quiet (it was Sunday and a lot of places were closed). We would have loved... More

I really enjoyed my time in Zuheros, it is a quiet little village set in a great landscape. It is secluded but close to many other attractions. They have several great restaurants.

Stopped here en route to Granada having spent time in Cordoba.A lovely village in a really attractive mountain setting.A few streets worth strolling through before finally emerging onto the main plaza with its towering ruined castle ,old church, mirador and little bar/cafe.In November the place had a hushed, peaceful quality about it ,far removed from the slightly industrialised ,scattered areas below.Our... Our son works in a school in Puente Genil in Andalucia and at a recent visit he asked the locals which nearby town they would suggest for a visit. Zuheros was their choice. Its in the Cordoba mountains with traditional white houses with a Moorish castle at the top of the village. It is worth the drive and a nice... More
