Iguassu Falls Park was closed due to puma sightings so our tour guide had to scramble to find a replacement. We went to Wanda Mines where they mine semi precious stones. We were led down to the actual mines. Everywhere you see partial geodes of all colors exposed in the walls. These are pockets of air with the different minerals... More

Quite easy to reach from Rute 12, around 60 km far from Puerto Iguazu, after the village of Puerto de Libertad (the first roundabout in the road, take your right). Although the road is good, with plenty of tropical vegetation, the traffic signs to the mine are poorly distributed along the path. Don't go to the Catalina mines. I paid... More

If you want to get in touch with the history of our planet earth, then you should definitely visit Wanda Mines. The visit to this location is included almost in all the tours to Igyazu waterfalls. Visiting the mines the tourists will see amazing precious stones kept inside the rocks for millions of years. The tour is guided and you... More

I'm a local tour guide from the area and I know very well Wanda Mines. Once we leave the waterfalls area we start to feel the country side from Misiones Province. There are some mate plantations and arraving at the mining area there are local specialists explaining every step from the entire process from the rock to the shop. Obviously... More

It´s worthwile visiting Minas de Wanda. The guides will introduce you to the fantastic world of stones and jewelry. Besides you´ll have the chance of getting into a cave and taking pictures. At the end of the visit, there is a shop to buy souvenirs

We weren't expecting much when we randomly turned off the road to visit the mines. If you can avoid all the children selling stones on the entrance/exit road, there are 2 mines at the end of the road, we went in the right one! For 90 pesos, there was a guided visit into the mine. Very interesting, crystals everywhere, in... More

We did not know what to expect when our tour guide told us about this optional tour to the mine. It turned out to be interesting and educational as none of us has actually been into a real working mine. The guide could speak good English. We saw crystal in its original setting and learned how crystal was mined. There... More

We really had no idea what to expect. It was fun, educational, and a neat way to spend a couple of hours. Tons (literally) of amethyst to buy in the shop, if you play that game. :)

We went as a family with 12 and 15 yr olds and thoroughly enjoyed by all. We had wonderful Spanish speaking guide who was very passionate about the mines and the beautiful stones. 70pesos entry fee and then there's a cafe and gift store with a huge range. It was really amazing to see how the Crystals are formed, located... More
