The track is well constructed and offers great views out over Port Stephens Nelson Bay. The track is popular with tourists and locals alike. Parts of the journey are steep but a reasonably healthy person will be able to complete the track.

This is a must if you are here at Port Stephens. Such a lovely hike at first when you see it your like omg this is gonna be a tough one but it actually doesn't take too long and is a really nice hike and not difficult. Depending on your fitness level can take from 20-40min. So worth it for... More

Worth the hike up. The views are worth it. Take water and proper shoes. Can get a little busy on weekends and bottlenecks occur at several spots. Look out for the resident large spiders above you. Harmless though.

Great place to visit especially the top of the mount, quite a climb, but well worth it for the spectacular 360 views.

From the beach at Shoal Bay the climb is around 30min depending on your level of fitness. The path is alternates between paved sections and stairs, sometimes very narrow, and you will work up a sweat on a hot day. Once you reach the summit you will be rewarded with fantastic views of the Shoal Bay and the surrounding beaches.... More

Reasonable climb, about 1km distance. Took us about 1.5 hours to make round trip including plenty of time to take photos. Views at the peak is well worth it. Bring camera, bottle of water and good closed shoes.

This walk is a must if visiting the area because it give you a real perspective as to the geography of the area. Its a little steep and I wouldn't try it with a buggy and kids in tow, but otherwise its really not difficult and is well worth the effort.

First part of this is a fairly steep path, followed by just over 300 steps and paths. Optional detour to the WW2 gun emplacements. Takes someone of reasonable fitness about 1.5 hours round trip to the top and back. Some really fit people run it! If it's summer recommend doing this walk before breakfast, otherwise it can get really hot.... More
