I have been to Port Stephens for many times - and the particular place that I always come back is Tomaree Head for Tomaree Head summit walk. It's not hard - variety ways of walk to the summit - through path way , iron steps etc. When you get to the top - spectacular view of Port Stephens

Went here to show my friend, and it did not disappoint. A good work out to get to the top, so be prepared to sweat! The view is worth it, and on clear days you have unlimited 360 degree views. Come during whale season and you can even spot them from the top!

Did the walk to the summit and then the gun emplacements. The paths are all clear and well maintained, but be prepared for a bit of a climb. I enjoyed it, but probably rough on young kids and not suitable for peaks. Starts out smooth but steep the turns into lots of stairs. I like that type of walk, but... More

We did the summit walk up the mountain, we picked the middle of a hot day so that probably wasn't the best idea but the walk wasn't too long anyway. The view from the top is spectacular and well worth it. You can see the amazing blue waters below and the mountains surrounding Tomaree Head. We went for a swim... More

The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular. The walkway is clearly marked and safe. The gradient on the first part is the steepest but then it flattens out with some flights of steps. Takes a slow walker about 45 mins to get to the top.

The views were beautiful, the walk was a challenge for the unfit. We had a few stops along the way! Lucky theirs a few seats!

We had heard that this was a good climb up the mountain, so we decided to tackle the climb it is steep in spots and for us we decided to run up. If you are keen and fit this is a good challenge, for the not so fit a leisurely walk, the view at the top is spectacular

We set off on this walk from our hotel and really enjoyed it. It is well maintained and fairly easy. The views are magnificent on a fine day. We were lucky enough see lots of whales from the top.

The views from the head were spectacular back across the Port Stephens bay, entrance and coastline. We could see whales breaching out in the distance. It was a short but challenging walk up a steep incline with plenty of steps. If you took your time even and unfit person could do it. Worth the view.
