We took our 8th graders to Cuba this year, and this was the highlight of the trip for pretty much everybody. You have to go up into the mountains in rickety ATVs (which I like, but just be forewarned). There's a cool place to see...More

We booked a 2 day tour with Gaviota tours with 3 cities to visit including this incredible journey. It was amazing!!! The hike to the waterfalls is beautiful and if you aren't an avid hiker, that's ok. There was a couple in their late 60's...More

It is really in the middle of a hill. If you book hotel here while visiting Trinidad, be careful! There are no signs for the hotels and the road is super dangerous!

We went for a hike in to the Topes de Collante. There are many walks in the hills and you will probably need a guide. We organised one from home. I recommend you organise one via your casa as it is generally cheaper to do...More

Lovely forest, with good hiking tracks. Great for birdwatching - easy to spot the Cuban Tody and Tocororo here. Also some good waterfall pools for swimming in.

From the park headquarters, we boarded Soviet era trucks for the ride to Codina section of the park. Once there, there is a wonderful nature walk, with especially good birding, as well as flora. The orchid garden is excellent. At the conclusion of our walk,...More

If you get to the top and not brave to swim in the natural pool of the water falls I will give thumbs down. This is a great hiking in the nature of the thousand wonders that Cuba has to offer to all of us....More

We were transported with an old colourful truck. The initial hike was easy however the close to vertical descent on unsteady ground down to the waterfall and little pool was not that easy. Worth the effort. Don't forget you bathing suit.

I'm planning a trip, will be in Havana and have a 2 or 3 nights in Trinidad Topes do Collantes, would you reccomend visiting El Nicho falls on the way from Cienfuegos to Trinidad or just go to Trinidad and do a day trip to the park? Was planning on taking a taxi, and trying to minimize travel time or break up the trip. Thanks!

Hi. Can I ask how you got your tour to the Topes de Collantes National Park? Did you do an overnight trip? We are staying in Trinidad and would like to do an overnight trip staying in a hacienda. Thanks
